Nerf War Fun

My son's 10th Birthday Party was supposed to occur in March. We cancelled it and pushed the date out to the end of April. We then pushed it out until the last day in May. As the date was approaching, I had one mom ask if it was still going on. I sat there and thought "Am I comfortable with this? Am I putting my family at risk?" We talked it over and decided we didn't want to do a sleepover, but would entertain a smaller group of his best friends to come over for outdoor fun. We had a fun obstacle course set up (We have more to put up, but I went the easy route for my son ;) Shhh, don't tell him) complete with slip and slide, inflatable pool, Nerf blow-ups, and more. We ended the night with a wonderful Movie Night with a Popcorn and Candy Bar set-up.

These boys were overjoyed to see each other. It almost made me teary eyed to see just how much they've missed each other. Covid-19 has been so hard on these sweet kiddos and on us as well, but they deserve an award for adapting so well to our new normal. I was constantly making them wash their hands, I was cleaning behind them like crazy, and had to hose them off from the mud. This was such a perfect party, because every single one of them had a blast together. From 3:30-10:30 they were so happy and enjoying each other. They made great memories! I've missed that so much.

I made his cake. I used Meringue Frosting which is his favorite, but it also didn't get as smooth as I would have liked. They loved it though.

Each Child received an apron filled with bullets, safety goggles, and the same gun (no arguments for who has the better gun). We also had buckets with extra bullets throughout the yard.
